But, if you want to experience life on this island and is afraid of the prospects of crime or traveling on the road, there other options available. The Jamaicans love to show off that this little island is big, but it is only has a little over 4000 sq miles to explore. Fortunately, you can get around easily on plane rides if you are not interested in traveling in the bus, taxi or rental cars. Regardless of how or where you are going there are countless opportunities for you to have enjoyment and fun.

Just imagine this for a minute!
A long weekend was planned to visit Jamaica, you booked your hotel in Negril, but your flight landed in the city of Kingston.
Now, you could opt to travel by means of a rental car from the airport straight to your hotel. Because, logically you are thinking that it is a very small island, so how long could it take you to reach your destination? Well, you would be looking at four hours the least.

Why not? It could very well be a very enjoyable experience as you journey and get to see the country that you would not see otherwise. There is even the chance of stopping at the fruit stands to sample juicy tropical fruits; skipping lanes from animals walking leisurely in the road or enjoy the breathtaking ocean views and mountains. But, there is no doubt that along the way, regardless of the wonderful sights that you will behold, you might regret the decision to drive.

All of this can be avoided if you get one of the domestic flights that are provided for traveling between the different resort areas. The time for driving between the popular spots can take hours; it is much shorter and quicker if you opt for a plane ride.

Having said all that was to quickly point out the fact that although Jamaica country might not seem big, you will definitely get tired if you are thinking of exploring it all in one day. Yes, there is a crime in some areas, but you can travel around on your own and still be safe. If truth be told, one cannot blame anyone who tries to drive across the island in one day as there are so many beautiful attractions and scenic views which will easily captivate them.
